I was very lucky to get a tour of Windsor, a beautiful town a little west of London, and Eton College (a private school, in American speak). I was guided by two good friends who are Old Etonians, so I was able to get a very informative and personal view of the college.
This was the first sight I saw walking out of the train station at Windsor: the casual Windsor Castle.
Windsor is separated from Eton by the Thames.
Walking down the main street of Eton.
This was a house at Eton College. It was hard for me to believe that adolescent boys dormed here for school.
Modern art on the side of a house.
Eton is pretty damn majestic.
Eton has some pretty notable alums (ahem, William and Harry), so I felt like a damn VIP getting a tour of the grounds.
The Eton golf course.
Kind of like Hogwarts, right?
Some badass carved his name into this post in 1609 (!!!)
The idyllic walk to the rowing lake.
The 2012 Olympic rowing event was held at this lake.
The grounds of Windsor Castle.
The flag is raised, which means the Queen is in!
I love how this amazing centuries old castle is just in the middle of every day life here in Windsor.
